Irwin Mitchell Supports City Giving Day

27.09.2016

National law firm Irwin Mitchell is organising a series of events across the country to support City Giving Day.

The annual initiative is held on 27th September 2016 and more than 200 leading firms in the City of London will showcase and celebrate the charitable work of their business and employees.

Irwin Mitchell is supporting the day in 16 of its offices around the country in aid of its charities including Haven House Children’s Hospice and FareShare.

Haven House Children’s Hospice has supported over 600 families looking after children and young adults who have life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. Fare Share organises the collection of waste food from around London and delivers it to charities and community projects across the capital to provide meals for Londoners in need of support.

The law firm has a proud tradition of supporting good causes and the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation has donated more than £1.3m since its launch in 1997. Each of the firm’s offices also has its own Charity of the Year initiative.

The activities planned for City Giving day include office bake off and themed cake sale events and visits from charity partners. Staff will also take part in the Go Red campaign with staff wearing red items of clothing to show their commitment to good causes.

Expert Opinion
“Irwin Mitchell is delighted to be supporting City Giving Day. It is an excellent chance to promote and celebrate our charity and community work, recruit more volunteers into corporate social responsibility programmes and highlight the work our Group does in our communities.

“We have a proud history of supporting charities across the country and being involved in the local community is a big part of our day-to-day life. All our offices support a local charity of their choice every year and our people are passionate about getting involved. We encourage our people to take part in voluntary activities and we enable them to donate 14 hours of their time each year to charity work.”
