Irwin Mitchell has presented a donation of £6,813 to Magpas Air Ambulance, the law firm’s Cambridge office Charity of the Year for 2015.

Employees at Irwin Mitchell’s Cambridge office have supported the charity throughout 2015, donating the proceeds of charitable activities, such as bake sales, dress down days and special events, to the charity.

Magpas Air Ambulance is a charity bringing lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond.

Many of the UK’s highly trained doctors and paramedics volunteer their own time to work with Magpas to provide frontline medical care, free of charge. The medics work together to save lives at the roadside or where they are needed most. In October 2015 the scheme was extended to a 24/7 service.

The Magpas air ambulance flies between 7am-7pm and the rapid response vehicles are available 24 hours a day.

Irwin Mitchell’s Charity of the Year initiative is part of the work of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, an independent registered charity set up by the partners and employees of the national law firm. More than £1.25m has been donated to worthy causes since the foundation was formed in 1997.

Neil Whiteley, regional managing partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Cambridge office, said:
