24 People Injured As Coach Crashed Near El Prat Airport
A number of holidaymakers from Britain and Ireland have been injured when a coach, carrying them from the Lloret de Mar resort to Barcelona’s El Prat airport, crashed and overturned in heavy rain.
Local government officials confirmed three people suffered serious injuries, six suffered less serious injuries and 15 were treated for minor injuries at the scene of the crash on the B-10 highway.
Expert international personal injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, who represent individuals involved in recent coach crashes in France, Germany, Cyprus and Belgium, have called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Expert Opinion
“It is very concerning to hear reports of this incident in Spain. The clear priority at this stage is ensuring that the passengers and driver injured in the crash receive the support and treatment they require to overcome any physical and psychological injuries.
“It is also important that a thorough investigation is conducted by the local authorities in order to understand the cause of the accident, which was undoubtedly extremely traumatic for those involved. We hope that by investigating the incident carefully then appropriate measures, if any, can be taken to prevent similar incidents occurring in the future.
“Sadly this is one of several major coach crashes to take place on the European mainland in recent years and while it remains too early to say what caused this latest crash, it is vital – where possible – that lessons are learned.” Philip Banks - Partner
