The Birmingham office of leading law firm Irwin Mitchell has revealed its pride after lending support to a new awards initiative in the city which takes place later this month.

The law firm has sponsored The Business Woman of the Year category at The Birmingham Awards, which take place on Friday 27th November, at Edgbaston Stadium.

It is the inaugural year for the Awards, which have been set up by The Asian Today newspaper to recognise the achievements of people and businesses citywide.

The categories selected are representative of various industries, which demonstrate the vibrant spirit of the city.

As well as being the sole legal partner of the event, Irwin Mitchell has nominated one of its chosen charities the Edward’s Trust for an award. One of the firm’s trainee solicitors Laura Oseland has also been nominated in the best newcomer category.

Irwin Mitchell’s nomination for Edward’s Trust was inspired by the close relationship the firm enjoys with the charity, which was set up in 1989 to provide bereavement counselling to the individuals and families who have lost loved ones across the West Midlands.

“Awards like these are a fantastic way to celebrate people from different social and cultural backgrounds who deserve recognition for things they have achieved and Irwin Mitchell is delighted to be a part of that.

“We wish the best of luck to all of the nominees and look forward to what should be a fantastic night for Birmingham as a whole.”
