Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham Corporate Team Advises On Deal
Telford-based Reconomy, the UK’s leading provider of outsourced recycling and waste management services, has announced the acquisition of Countrywide Waste Management Limited.
The enlarged Reconomy group of companies will have a combined turnover in excess of £80 million and demonstrates a significant step toward ensuring they continue to provide industry leading services to an increasing number of clients that view outsourcing their recycling and waste services as the most efficient method of managing their waste.
The move comes following successive years of high growth that has seen Reconomy enter last year’s CIWM’s Catalyst Corporate Finance top 10 fastest growing waste companies (based on 2012 and 2013 performance) and continued annual growth of 15-20% for the foreseeable future.
Paul Cox, managing director of Reconomy said: “We are delighted to have acquired Countrywide Waste Management to further establish ourselves as the leading national provider of waste services to the construction (and related) industries. There are many synergies between the two businesses, in terms of culture and customer base and moving forwards, Reconomy and its customers will have the benefit of working with a wider supply chain aimed at delivering an enhanced level of services, great customer satisfaction and competitive prices.”
The deal also included the acquisition of Countrywide’s subsidiary, MT Waste Management Limited, based in Milton Keynes. The newly acquired companies will, in the short term, continue to operate separately with no anticipated disruption to the day to day operations of both companies.
The Corporate team at the Birmingham office of Irwin Mitchell, advised Reconomy on the deal.
