Expert Public Health lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed to investigate the cause of an illness outbreak after a group of 18 held an annual outing at the Lyndene Hotel in Blackpool.The revellers from Manchester visited the hotel for a belated Christmas weekend break from 9-11 January, but 14 of them fell ill with suspected norovirus. They suffered with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches and a fever and have reported that other guests at the hotel were also suffering with similar symptoms.
Local environmental health officials have begun an investigation into the cause of the outbreak and it has been reported that hotel staff have undertaken a deep clean of the hotel.

Jacqueline said: “This is the third year we have visited the hotel for our annual outing and we have never had any problems in the past. This year was absolutely horrendous though, as the majority of our group fell ill and suffered from symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea and fever.
“I had to take time off work when I got back home as I was so ill and I was completely stunned to see that the hotel was still allowing guests to check in when it had become quite clear to us there was a serious illness outbreak going on there.”
