Birthday Celebrations spoilt by Illness At Holiday Village Seaview Ibiza Resort
A family of four has instructed specialist international personal injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell to investigate after their trip to the four-star Holiday Village Seaview resort in Ibiza was ‘ruined’ by severe gastric illness.Glynn Jones, 41, and his wife Michelle, 44, from Redditch, in Worcestershire, travelled to the resort for a two-week break with their two children at the end of August last year booked through tour operator First Choice Holidays & Flights Limited.
But just a few days into the holiday, during which the family intended to celebrate the birthdays of Michelle and one of the children, Michelle and her two children fell ill with severe gastric illness. All three suffered from diarrhoea, abdominal pains and cramps. The children visited the medical facilities at the resort and were advised to take anti-diarrhoea medication from a local pharmacy.
They are all still continuing to suffer from their symptoms and visited their general practitioner upon their return to the UK and are currently under review. The family was also aware that other holidaymakers were also ill at the resort with similar symptoms.
Glynn, a sales manager, said: “We were really looking forward to our summer holiday but it was ruined, as my wife and children became very ill and were in no condition to enjoy their holiday.Expert Opinion
We are now investigating the cause of the illness that ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing family break.
“It is extremely worrying that other families may also have been affected by symptoms of gastric illness. Gastric Illness can often leave victims suffering from long-term health effects.
“For Glynn, Michelle and their two children, this holiday was their chance to celebrate and relax, but instead they were unable to enjoy themselves and were left feeling disappointed by their experience.”

“The hotel pool was closed on some days due to faeces floating in it, and the public toilets which we used seemed extremely unhygienic with traces of faeces smeared on some of the toilet doors. In the restaurant it also appeared that they were reusing some of the same food from lunch times during the evening service.
“It was not just us who were affected by illness during our stay, as other families were complaining about the conditions and were suffering similar symptoms. We want answers about what caused us to become so severely ill and have now instructed Irwin Mitchell to investigate on our behalf.”
