Ball Arranged To Raise Funds For Southampton General Hospital Sensory Playroom
Southampton law firm Irwin Mitchell continued its support for local charities and healthcare by sponsoring Buddy’s Ball, which was organised to help raise funds for a sensory playroom at Southampton General Hospital.
The circus-themed event, which was attended by expert serious injury lawyers Claire Howard and Ruth Johnson, was a successful one, with over £15,000 raised.
The money raised at the event will be used to build a sensory playroom at the hospital, with £5,000 earmarked for equipment in the neurology department, which helps many of the children who will use the playroom.
Buddy’s Ball was organised by the family of Joseph, who suffers from a rare neuromuscular condition that affects all of his muscle groups, including his sensory skills. He was nicknamed Buddy by employees at Southampton General Hospital and his mother Donna decided to launch the ball to raise funds for the facility.
