Medical Negligence Experts To Investigate Mother-Of-Two’s Care

An Inquest to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a mother-of-two following treatment at a Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Unit is scheduled to start on Thursday 19th March and is listed for two days. 

Denise Davies, from Lowestoft in Suffolk, was admitted as an inpatient at Carlton Court Mental Health Unit in June 2013 after being referred there for observation after her health deteriorated.

The 45-year-old died just over a day after she had been transferred from the Mental Health Unit to the James Paget Hospital in Norfolk with concerns over dehydration. 

Sadly, Denise suffered a cardiac arrest in hospital, which is thought to be as a result of a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in her lungs).

An inquest into her death is due to begin this week at Norwich Coroner’s Court with HM Coroner for Norfolk and Suffolk, Ms Jacqueline Lake. Denise’s family, including husband Mark Davies will be attending and are being represented by medical negligence experts at law firm Irwin Mitchell.
