Leading law firm Irwin Mitchell has joined up with East Midlands-based charity Warning Zone to produce a workbook for young people to try to cut the number of accidents and injuries in the region.

The charity aims to reduce the number of preventable deaths and injuries by teaching young people about the dangers of peer pressure, anti-social behaviour, risk and encouraging personal responsibility in a unique and interactive environment.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell is set to sponsor Warning Zone’s new workbook, which will be used by the children who use the facilities the charity offers in the Leicester area. It will also be delivered to 10,000 homes in the region from September.

Kelly Ferguson, a personal injury solicitor at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office, said: “We’re very pleased to be sponsoring Warning Zone’s workbook and we hope to continue to forge a relationship with the charity, supporting its efforts to help children and vulnerable groups improve their safety.”

Vimme Rathour, CEO of Warning Zone, said: “As a charity we rely on the good will, kindness and generosity of business and individuals to help support us in our aims of making Leicestershire a safer place, by educating youngsters on risk, consequence, ASB and a better understanding of their actions on society.

“We couldn’t achieve the great results we do without their help and for this reason we are absolutely delighted to be working with Irwin Mitchell and so pleased that the company has chosen to support Warning Zone. The workbook that Irwin Mitchell is producing for us is not only an amazing financial saving to us as a charity but also is helping at least 10,000 young people continue their learning on how to stay safe, remain safe and avoid entering the criminal justice system.”
