Local Residents Are Still Using The Area As A Shortcut
Residents in Clydebank may have been exposed to deadly asbestos by taking a shortcut across the site of a former primary school near to their homes.West Dunbartonshire Council employees discovered the cancer-causing substance at the site previously occupied by St Eunan’s Primary School and a warning to homes nearby was issued, however local people are angered that they were not informed in person.
There are concerns that children and adults may still be unwittingly exposing themselves to asbestos by using the vacant land as a shortcut, despite a number of warning signs being placed at the site.
A council spokesperson has apologised to residents who felt not enough was done to inform them of the danger in the area.
