13.03.2014

National law firm Irwin Mitchell has been confirmed as an official sponsor of this year’s St Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade in Birmingham, which is taking place in the Digbeth area from noon on Sunday (March 16th).

The annual celebration of the patron saint of Ireland, the largest event of its kind in the UK and the third largest in the world behind New York and Dublin, is expected to attract more than 80,000 people from across the city.

Irwin Mitchell’s backing of the parade and festival is just the latest example of its ongoing partnership and work with the Irish community in Birmingham.

The law firm regularly holds fortnightly legal advice clinics for the Irish in Birmingham charity at St Anne’s Parish Centre in Digbeth, while industrial disease lawyer and County Tyrone native Mark Lennon is also acting as a board member of the St Patrick’s Festival this year.

Expert Opinion
The St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival are among the biggest dates in the calendar for the city and we are delighted to be lending them our support this year.

"We are major advocates of supporting local communities and activities, with our involvement in this being another example of our commitment to giving back to key causes and events in the areas in which we work.

"As ever, the festival should prove to be a fantastic event on Sunday and we hope many people will come along enjoy it with us."

Anne Tighe, Chair of Birmingham St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival organising team, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Irwin Mitchell as a sponsor for this year’s Birmingham St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival.

“Without the support of businesses like Irwin Mitchell the parade would not be possible. Being such a key stakeholder in the city and with the work they do in the Irish community, we feel proud to have such a great organisation like Irwin Mitchell as our sponsor.”
