Law Firm Hosts Services Directory Launch Event As Part Of Brain Injury Awareness Week
Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell Scotland have once again worked in partnership with the brain injury association, Headway Glasgow, to collate the 2014 Headway Directory of Care Services - the third year the law firm has assisted the charity in creating the handy directory.
The well attended launch event was hosted by Irwin Mitchell Scotland at their Glasgow office on Thursday 13th March 2014 where guests could see an updated version of the directory, with the original being produced in 2011.
Headway Glasgow’s Directory of Care Services is a vital source of information and contacts for those who have suffered from brain injury and their supporting families.
The directory is split up into 5 sections so users can find the right service they need:
1. Hospital based services for people with brain injuries
2. Community based service
3. Brain injury Case Managers
4. Child specific services
5. Other services that you may find available
On the day, Elaine Russell, a Partner in the personal injury department at Irwin Mitchell Scotland handed over a cheque for £200 to Simon Glen of Headway Glasgow to assist with the great work that the organisation provides for Irwin Mitchell’s clients and family.
Elaine Russell, said: “Head and brain injuries have a dramatic and life changing impact for the person injured and for those who are close to them.
“Those affected deserve the best possible medical care, rehabilitation and specialised support following a head injury. We hope that this booklet will continue to help guide people in the right direction to services they need to help improve life after a brain injury.
“It is also the 10th year anniversary coming up and we will be launching an Edinburgh and East Lothian Headway Directory of Care Services so we are very excited about 2014 and continuing to assist the families that need this information.”
Simon Glen Project Co-ordinator, Headway Glasgow said: “We are extremely proud of our directory and want to thank Irwin Mitchell for their donation today and of course their fantastic input into the directory.
“We want to make sure that people are able to get information on the type of services they can access. Brain Injury affects people in so many different ways and we hope there is a service within the directory that can assist with the issue.”
