Lawyers Give Helping Hand To Homeless Charity
A charity which supports the homeless in the North East has thanked lawyers from Irwin Mitchell after the firm made a special donation to help support the work they do within the community.
Every year the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation makes a donation to local homeless charity with Newcastle organisations receiving £500 and this year the donation will be going to Children North East.
Lindsey Houghton, a serious injury lawyer at Irwin Mitchell and chairwoman of the Newcastle office’s charity committee, said: “There are many amazing charities in Newcastle that support homeless people and this includes Children North East. We are delighted to be able to offer our support to this charity as it is close to all our hearts in the Newcastle office.
“Children North East works with children, young people and their parents who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.
“The charities aim is to get people back on track in life with the help of support and training. We all hope this donation gives the charity a boost around this difficult time of year.”
Children North East charity is the region’s oldest children’s charity with all funds raised in the region, staying in the region.
Lesley Hutchinson, fundraiser at Children North East, said: “The generous donation from Irwin Mitchell will go towards activities to support families who are homeless.
“We will use it for a number of things including trips to the cinema and an emergency fund to support families with small household items for their children when they move on such as character bedding, lamp, clock etc to help them to settle into their new environment and have a sense of belonging.
“The Irwin Mitchell donation will make such a difference to a local child this winter period and we can’t thank them enough for their loyal support.”
