S Club 7 Singer Is Patron Of Charity Supporting Disabled Children In The UK
A Birmingham law firm teamed up with S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and 25 children with disabilities for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disney World Florida with the charity, Caudwell Children.Olivia Jenkins, from law firm Irwin Mitchell, has taken part in numerous fundraising activities throughout the year, including climbing Mount Snowdon and walking on fire. Olivia has raised around £2,000 for the charity and flew to America on 1 December 2014 with the popstar and 25 families who the charity supports.
Caudwell Children provides support services to disabled children and their families around the UK and organised the trip to allow the dreams of 25 children with disabilities to come true. Rachel Stevens is one of the charity’s ambassadors. She joined the trip to get to know the families and volunteers a bit better.
The families stayed in the Give Kids the World village at the Disney resort, which accommodates a ‘Castle of Miracles’, where each child can go to plant a permanent star with their name on, which remains there in their memory.
Olivia Jenkins, a medical negligence lawyer at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office, said: “I had a fantastic time on the trip to Disney World – it was brilliant to see how much joy and excitement the trip brought to the children and families Caudwell supports.
“I am so grateful to everyone who has sponsored me and helped to grant the wishes of 25 incredibly brave children and their families. It was a magical experience for all and allowed for a stress-free once-in-a-lifetime holiday for each family, who especially leaned on volunteer support throughout the trip”.
