Two Men Killed And Another Seriously Injured In Incident
Police are continuing their investigations into a major fire at a fireworks warehouse in Stafford last week in which two men died.
Simon Hillier, 41, and Stewart Staples, 57, both from Hednesford have been confirmed by Staffordshire Police as the two men believed to have died in the incident at SP Plastics on Tilcon Avenue on Thursday evening (October 30th).
While police stated that the identification was not formal, it had been made through the use of evidence at the scene of the fatal fire. A third man remains critically ill in hospital.
Supt Ian Coxhead of Staffordshire Police said: “The destroyed building in Tilcon Avenue is a dangerous scene and it remains cordoned off while colleagues from the fire service, along with police investigators, continue their work.
"We anticipate this will be a lengthy and complex investigation, our work to establish the cause of the fire is going to take considerable time.”
