Southampton Lawyers Support Charity Providing Support To Brain Injury Patients
Lawyers from Irwin Mitchell’s Southampton office have donated £500 to the Wayne Howard Trust to make it possible for the charity to open a Christmas Grotto to raise much-needed funds, and enable local children to see Santa. The charity offers support to victims of acquired brain injury, their relatives and carers. The ultimate goal of The Wayne Howard Trust is to develop a specialist rehabilitation centre in the UK to help those who have suffered serious brain injuries to achieve their full potential on their road to recovery.
The Santa’s Grotto opened at the Trust’s Charity Shop on Church Street, Shirley, with a number of specialist serious injury lawyers from Irwin Mitchell on hand to be Santa’s helpers and give out gifts. The Grotto will be in place until Monday 22 December.

Expert Opinion
It is great to be able to help the Wayne Howard Trust open a Santa’s Grotto. Hopefully, it will provide a way of generating funds over the Christmas period, which will be used to help those who have suffered serious brain injuries, as well as providing support for patients’ relatives.
“We were delighted to donate the £500 needed to launch the Grotto and had a fantastic time visiting the shop and helping Santa." Claire Howard - Solicitor
Isobel Howard, Trustee and Founder of the Wayne Howard Trust said: “We are extremely grateful to Irwin Mitchell for sponsoring the Santa’s Grotto at our Shirley store. We rely heavily on donations from the public and this will provide a great opportunity to help fund the support and advice we provide to patients and their families.
“It has been brilliant watching so many children coming into the store to see Santa! The Grotto is looking fantastic, and seeing their little faces light up is wonderful. All monies raised will help us to continue supporting those who have suffered brain injuries and their families, and ultimately put a smile on their faces.”
