Care Home Promises Action Plan After Negative Report
A care home in Norfolk has vowed to improve after receiving a damning inspection from the Care and Quality Commission (CQC).The Eastern Daily Press reports that Cedar House Nursing and Residential Home failed in at least one standard of all five areas it was assessed on, including staffing, safe care and meeting residents' needs.
The report particularly noted a lack of hygiene in the 26-resident facility, saying infection control procedures were "not robust" and parts of the environment needed refurbishment, redecoration and deep cleaning.
Residents' dietary needs were also not always met, and staff did not follow each individual's care plans properly.
Cedar House said it has put an action plan in place to address all of the points raised by the report.
"We will continue to work closely with the CQC and look forward to welcoming them back to the home soon to demonstrate our full compliance," said a spokesman for the home.
