Children Receive Hospital Treatment Following Problems
Holidaymakers staying at the Woodland Holiday Park, in Trimingham, Norfolk have been treated in hospital after a suspected chemical leak at the park.Paramedics were called to the retreat, near Cromer, on Monday (18 August) after reports of people coughing and complaining of sore throats and stomach aches and reportedly three children, under the age of 10 were taken to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson from East of England Ambulance Service confirmed a separate family of three were treated at the scene and made their own way to hospital.
Park chief executive Andrew Hird explained that a vapour leak had happened during routine maintenance. Mr Hird said: "It was being done by a contractor. When the pump was reprimed it led to a small vapour leak in the children's swimming area." He added that the pool had been full at the time, and is now back in use after a full health and safety inspection.
Expert Opinion
The reports of a chemical leak in the swimming pool of the Woodland Holiday Park are extremely troubling, particularly as a number of children are thought to be affected by the incident.

“For the sake of all of those involved, including those who needed hospital treatment, it is vital the holiday park and safety authorities work quickly to determine what happened in this case to try to ensure that the same problems are not seen again in the future.” Amandeep Dhillon - Partner
