Expert Reveals Hopes For Rail Safety Improvements
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has been informed following an incident in which a train derailed and caught fire outside of Manchester city centre today (January 23rd).
British Transport Police have revealed no passengers were onboard and no injuries were reported following the accident in Salford involving a chartered service run by West Coast Railways.
Four fire crews were in attendance at the scene, while police have stated that the driver was “safe and well”.
