Elizabeth House Lettings Highlight Increased Demand For Office Space Across City

JF Finnegan has secured two new tenants at its Elizabeth House office building on Queen Street in Leeds with the support of Irwin Mitchell.

The Leeds office of the national law firm advised the developer on the two deals which total 6,652 sq ft. Stanley Davis Group and The Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce will move into the building on five year leases.

Irwin Mitchell acted for JF Finnegan when it acquired Elizabeth House in 2011 following which a grade A refurbishment programme was undertaken by the developer to transform the whole 25,000 sq ft building.

Irwin Mitchell in Leeds recently announced that it advised on the purchase of Granary Wharf House by educational charity Lhasa Limited. The three-storey purpose built 20,805 sq ft offices were previously occupied by the Medical Protection Society (MPS).

The recent deals coincide with a number of reports which have highlighted an increase in demand for office space in Leeds City Centre. According to BNP Paribas Real Estate, total Leeds office take-up between the first nine months of 2013 reached 829,000 sq ft. This was 36 per cent higher than the same period in 2012.
