By David Shirt
The Manchester office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has continued to grow its insolvency and corporate restructuring team with the appointment of associate solicitor, Rebecca O’Callaghan from DLA Piper.
Rebecca, who has been with DLA for five years, specialises in all areas of corporate recovery with an emphasis on contentious work. She acts for insolvency practitioners, lenders, and creditors and has particular expertise in administrations, litigation on behalf of insolvency practitioners, and on behalf of and against directors and asset recovery actions.
Her appointment follows that of insolvency partner, John Vickery, who moved to Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office from DLA in July.
Commenting on her appointment, Rebecca said: "Irwin Mitchell is a progressive law firm and I’m excited to be joining the business as it continues to expand its commercial team.
"The insolvency team already has a strong reputation in the North West and I am looking forward to helping develop this further."
Other recent partner appointments in Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office include corporate partner, Jon Close and banking and finance specialist, Dean Gormley.
They were joined in February by four real estate partners, Roy Beckett, Anita Weightman, Patrick Duffy and Tony Weightman, who moved as part of a 14-strong team from DLA.
