Irwin Mitchell Top in 16 Areas of Law In Annual Legal 500 Report

Irwin Mitchell has once again been recognised as having a market leading Personal Legal Services division as the firm secured 16 number one rankings with 57 recommended lawyers in an independent guide to the sector.

The independent Legal 500 2013 UK report ranks the firm, which recently reported annual income in excess of £200m for the first time, as number one for Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Travel, Product Liability, Family, Court of Protection and the Public Law team’s education expertise.

Contentious Probate has been ranked separately as a practice area for the first time this year with Irwin Mitchell securing a tier one spot.

Andrew Tucker, Chief Executive of Personal Legal Services at Irwin Mitchell, said: “These latest results are testament to the hard work of our staff over the past year to maintain our high rankings while improving in several other areas of law.

“Our market leading personal injury teams are at the top of the rankings across the country while our Public Law and private client teams including Family law, Contentious Probate and Court of Protection are also performing strongly with improvements in many areas of the country.

“To have more than 50 lawyers recommended in the guide for their work in helping individual clients is a great accolade for us to have and we are proud that our Personal Legal Services are being recognised as being extremely high quality in so many areas of law.”

As well as the high number of number one rankings, 10 teams improved their rankings including the Public Law teams involved in healthcare, education and Civil Liberties & Human Rights. The Family Law team also improved its rankings in Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and London after three new Partners joined the firm.

The travel team was ranked in the top tier for the first time in London with work for clients involved in an aviation accident commended.
