‘Exceptional’ Results Follow A Year of Growth For The Business Division
National law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has again highlighted the strength and quality of its fast-growing Business Legal Services (BLS) Group after posting impressive results in the latest Chambers & Partners directory.
Across the UK, Irwin Mitchell, which recently reported annual income in excess of £200m for the first time, listed 43 lawyers from within its BLS division as leading individuals in their field. This represents a significant increase on last year’s figure of 29.
The independent publication, which grades solicitors and barristers across 70 areas of law in the UK, ranked Irwin Mitchell as a ‘number one’ firm in six of Chambers’ commercial legal categories including litigation, restructuring, professional negligence and banking.
Irwin Mitchell’s BLS division also increased the number of top ranked individuals from three in the previous year to seven. Nine individuals were also described as ‘Associated to Watch’.
The latest results follow a strong performance in the Legal 500 UK rankings in which Irwin Mitchell’s BLS team was ranked as a leading ‘tier 1’ provider in seven areas. According to the independent guide, Irwin Mitchell is now ranked as a top three firm in 35 of Legal 500’s business related categories.
Since the start of 2013, Irwin Mitchell has recruited ten new BLS partners. The latest recruit, Nigel Kissack, will join the London office later this month as National Head of Commercial Litigation. Other recent strategic senior hires include IP partners Georgie Collins and Alex Newman.
