Law Firm Retains Corporate Team Challenge Trophy

Irwin Mitchell is celebrating once again after a team of dedicated runners from the national law firm were crowned the winners of the 2013 SIG Insulations Sheffield Half Marathon’s Corporate Team Challenge for a fifth consecutive year.
The team, consisting of Tom Hall (1:20), Nicholas Jackson (1:25) and Chris Ellison (1:36), took home the trophy after registering an impressive combined time of 4:21:21 at the event on Sunday morning (May 12th), which saw runners tackle a 13.1-mile course across the city centre.
Aimed at local businesses, the Corporate Team Challenge sees teams of four entered to complete the distance, with the final rankings determined by adding together the times of the three fastest runners.
Two other teams from Irwin Mitchell also took part in the challenge, finishing third and sixth respectively. Six of the competitors in the teams also achieved personal best times.
David Goy, team captain and solicitor in the Real Estate team at Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office, said: “The challenge of trying to retain the crown for a fifth year was just too exciting to pass up and we’re absolutely delighted to have come out on top once again.
“Credit must go to everyone involved in all of our teams, with each competitor putting a huge amount of hard work and training.
“However, the day in its entirety is about much more than winning, it is about getting involved and Irwin Mitchell lending its support to an event which has become a local institution.
“We’re incredibly proud to have done so well and, predictably, our thoughts are already turning to whether we can do it all again next year! We would encourage all businesses in Sheffield to get involved in this great event in the City.”
