Personal Injury Experts Run Bristol Half Marathon
A medical negligence solicitor and litigation assistant are swapping law books for running shoes this weekend when they will pound the pavements during the Bristol Half Marathon to raise money for a local hospice.
Luke Trevorrow from the medical law team and Zoe Hislop from the serious injury team at Irwin Mitchell are running to raise sponsorship funds for St Peter’s Hospice; the Bristol office’s named charity of the year and hope to raise awareness of the invaluable services it provides.
The leading national law firm has named Help the Hospices as its umbrella charity of the year but each office is also supporting a local hospice by raising funds.
The Bristol Half Marathon, now in its 24th year, takes place on 30 September and will start and finish in the city’s historic Harbourside.
Luke said: “St Peter’s Hospice is Bristol’s only adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses and is totally reliant on donations from the public which is why Irwin Mitchell Bristol chose it as its worthy charity of the year.
“I have run a few half marathons before and play quite a bit of sport so I am looking forward to it and hope to complete it around one hour and 40 minutes if possible.
“Irwin Mitchell is committed to being a socially responsible organisation and encourages staff to take part in a variety of projects as part of a comprehensive community programme that includes fundraising and supporting local charities.”
Zoe added: “This will be my twelfth half marathon so I’m not feeling too daunted, just very excited to be running for such a worthy cause.
“The Irwin Mitchell Bristol office has organised lots of fundraising activities over the last nine months for St Peter’s including bake offs, dress down days and other sporting events and Luke and I hope to add an extra sum of money to the overall total.”
