Acquisition Saves Jobs
Wolverhampton-based thermo packaging company, Belpac Limited, has been sold by its Administrators, safeguarding jobs and ensuring business continuity in the process.
Simon Harris, Mark Supperstone and Cameron Gunn of ReSolve Partners LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of Belpac Limited on 5 July 2012.
The Administrators have now sold the business and assets of Belpac to BDN Packaging Limited, also based in Wolverhampton, for an undisclosed sum. BDN is owned by Ian Blunt and Ian Nicholls, who ran Belpac for many years previously.
Established over 30 years ago, Belpac is one of the leading players in bespoke packaging in the UK. Operating for a range of sectors from fresh food to technological products, the company provides services from packaging design and development to blister sealing and contract packaging.
Mike Bennett of Irwin Mitchell LLP in Birmingham, who acted for the Administrators in the sale, added: “The success of the business was predicated on growth which ultimately did not come to fruition. As with all appointments of this type the Administrators needed to act swiftly and decisively to preserve the value in the business and secure a sale, which they did to very impressive effect.”
Simon Harris, Joint Administrator and Partner at ReSolve Partners LLP commented: “We are pleased to have secured a sale of the business and assets of Belpac to BDN Packaging Limited that not only protects the employment base of the Company but secures value for the creditors of Belpac.”
