Lawyer Plays Cards Right For Charities Close To His Heart

Sheffield Lawyer Makes Charity Donations

A Sheffield lawyer has donated more than £100 to local charities by taking to the golf course and playing his cards right.

David Urpeth, National Head of Workplace Injuries and Illness at leading law firm Irwin Mitchell, took part in a Sheffield Law Society Charity Golf Tournament earlier this month (October) when he won a cash prize for landing a shot on the green.

He also won a poker tournament, organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at Napoleons’ Casino.

Urpeth, who works in Sheffield and lives in Gateford near Worksop, has donated his winnings to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Commenting on his choice of charities, Urpeth said: “Yorkshire Air Ambulance is particularly close to my heart as I‘ve worked with the organisation on several occasions over the years and have seen first-hand the invaluable, life saving work they do. And it goes without saying that the Children’s Hospital is a hugely deserving cause.”
