Real Estate Team Recognised At Yorkshire Awards
Irwin Mitchell’s fast growing Real Estate team has been named the Yorkshire Property Law Firm of the Year after being involved in a strong portfolio of work across 2010 and 2011.
The Real Estate team won the top prize at the Insider Yorkshire Property Industry Awards 2011 at the Royal Armouries, where the judging panel commented that “Irwin Mitchell had done some great deals, had a great regional focus, and remained profitable”.
The recent Legal 500 independent guide also recently praised the team for offering a “fantastic service”.
Kevin Docherty, Head of the Yorkshire Real Estate team at Irwin Mitchell said: “This year the firm has been involved in a number of high profile property deals with some of the leading organisations both in the region and nationally. It is testament to the hard work of our team and the quality of our clients that we have been rewarded for our efforts.”
“We have a strong track record in Yorkshire and have added some key people to our team in the past year. The quality and breadth of experience we now offer is second to none whether clients are looking for development, investment, planning or any other aspect of commercial property law.”
The firm, which has offices in both Sheffield and Leeds has been involved in a number of high profile property deals involving Hallam Land Management, Henry Boot Developments, Shepherd Developments, NG Bailey, and Sheffield Hallam University, as well as acting for leading retail brands such as River Island and Dobbies Garden Centres.
The firm was appointed to the newly formed Shepherd Building Group legal panel earlier this year and were recently appointed to the Yorkshire Bank property finance panel for the East region.
The team has also completed work involving Enterprise Zones in Yorkshire and has been instrumental in moving forward the plans for the Cranbrook new town project to build over 1,120 homes in East Devon.
