Prestbury Passes Operations To Methodist Homes And Royal Mencap
National law firm Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate Division has advised Prestbury, as landlords, in the transfer of the operation of its Southern Cross care homes to leading charities Methodist Homes and Royal Mencap.
Fourteen of Prestbury’s aged care homes have been transferred to Methodist Homes, which is one of the UK’s leading providers of care services to older people and is at the forefront of quality dementia services.
In addition, the management of seven learning disability homes have been transferred to Royal Mencap, a registered charity and leader in the field of learning disability care.
A subsidiary of Prestbury Investment Holdings Limited manages the portfolio of 21 properties and Prestbury has a 20% interest in the joint venture company that owns the properties, PSX Holdings Ltd.
These agreements secure the future well being of both residents and staff in the care homes and ensure that new operators have been secured for all of Prestbury’s Southern Cross Homes.
Real estate partners Jo Footitt and Lewis Myers advised Prestbury, Methodist Homes was advised by Anthony Collins and Eversheds advised Royal Mencap.
Sandy Gumm at Prestbury said, “We were delighted to continue our long association with Lewis, Jo and the team at Irwin Mitchell who were, as usual, a pleasure to work with.”
