Inquest Into Incident Confirmed For Next Year
A preliminary hearing into a helicopter crash in Northern Ireland which led to the death of three men has been held, ahead of a full inquest into the incident next year.
Coroner John Leckey at Belfast Coroner’s Court yesterday (October 4th) outlined the details of the crash, which apparently occurred when the Agusta 109 aircraft suffered engine trouble and came down in the Mourne Mountains in County Down.
Ian Wooldridge, Anthony Smith and Charles Stisted, who was a friend of Prince Charles, were fatally injured in the crash in October last year.
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau is set to publish a report into the crash in November, while the inquest into the deaths will be held in front of a jury in February.
