Expert Calls For Answers Following Collision

School pupils in Essex were taken to hospital for treatment yesterday (November 16th) after being injured in a road traffic accident involving a double-decker bus and a car.

Four children suffered neck injuries after the collision at Great Bromley, near Colchester, while a 25-year-old man had neck pain and was treated for shock. All of them were taken to Colchester General Hospital following the incident.

Reports revealed another 30 children on board the bus, which was travelling from Colchester to Harwich, were also assessed at the scene by the East of England Ambulance Service.

Gary Walker, a solicitor and group claims expert at Irwin Mitchell, acts for the families of children hurt when a school bus operated by TM Travel collided with a railway bridge in Chesterfield in March this year.

He said: “We hope that emergency services are able to provide full answers as to how this incident in Essex came to occur.

“This is just the latest in a series of incidents involving school buses, and leading to the injury of pupils, that we’ve seen occur across the UK this year.

“From our experience, we know that the families of those involved in this crash will be demanding answers over what happened and reassurances that efforts will be made to prevent the same thing from happening again.”
