Leeds Office Ready For ‘Step Change’ In Development
THE LEEDS office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has appointed Nick Bates as its new Regional Managing Partner as part of ongoing plans to be recognised as a leading Full Service legal firm.
Nick, who previously headed up the firm’s Commercial Litigation team in the North, takes over from Partner David Knaggs, who remains with the firm as a Consultant.
In his new role, Nick will be responsible for managing the office’s 20 Partners and 180 staff, whilst leading the firm’s development across both its Personal and Business Legal Services divisions.
In addition to becoming Regional Managing Partner, Nick has been appointed Head of Business Legal Services in the Leeds office. Here Nick has taken over from Partner Kevin Cunningham who will continue to head up and grow Irwin Mitchell’s Corporate and Transactions team across the North of England.
Commenting on the appointment to Regional Managing Partner, Nick Bates said: “To be leading Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office at this time is a huge honour and I very much look forward to working with a first rate group of Partners and staff, whilst building on the excellent work done by my predecessor, David Knaggs.”
John Pickering, Group Chief Executive of Irwin Mitchell, commented: “Nick has made a real impact since joining us as a Partner in 2006 and I’ve no doubt that he will make a big impression in his new roles and continue to drive the practice in Leeds on to even greater success.”
