Lawyer Given Full Advocacy Rights
Birmingham based lawyer, David Egan, has become one of only a handful of corporate criminal lawyers to be awarded the prestigious Higher Rights Criminal Advocacy qualification by the College of Law.
David specialises in all areas of corporate crime and has a particular focus on prosecutions relating to environmental law. He also supports businesses facing regulatory proceedings by the Office of Fair Trading, Trading Standards, the Police and Local Councils.
The qualification provides David with the same advocacy rights as Barristers and allows him to represent clients in corporate criminal proceedings in all higher courts up to and including the Supreme Court
David Egan, Partner at Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham, said: "This qualification will enable me to provide a 'cradle to grave' advocacy service for all business clients which require assistance in corporate crime investigations. It is rare for corporate solicitors to hold this qualification and I believe it is another important string to Irwin Mitchell’s bow as we look to build on our full service business offering in Birmingham."
