Meerkat Has Animal Attraction At Children’s Charity

Irwin Mitchell Hosts Event In Birmingham

Law firm, Irwin Mitchell, proved that ‘working with children and animals’ can be a successful combination, when it hosted its third annual party for The Foundation for Conductive Education recently.

The event, held at the Foundation’s headquarters in Cannon Hill House, Moseley, Birmingham, included a picnic, face painting and an animal presentation by Tropical Inc.

Lisa Jordan, a medical law expert and partner with the Midlands’ offices of Irwin Mitchell, said:  “The event was a great success. Children, who attend the Foundation, were accompanied by their parents and carers and they joined in the fun with staff and volunteers from Irwin Mitchell, together with their own children.

Whilst the face painting and the picnic were great fun, the highlight of the party was without doubt the animal presentation and, in particular, a meerkat who stole the show and was loved by the children and adults alike.”

The youngsters also came face to face with a range of animals, including a corn snake, a carpet python, a rainforest frog, a desert hedgehog, a skunk, a bearded lizard, a kookaburra and even a turtle that had been rescued from a Birmingham canal.  They were able to get up close and touch all of the creatures with the exception of a tarantula!

Lisa continues: “Events like this party offer a chance for children, parents and carers to bond and engage in stimulating and fun activities.

“The Foundation for Conductive Education works tirelessly to provide a better quality of life for children affected by conditions such as cerebral palsy and dyspraxia and we were delighted to have the opportunity to get involved with the charity which makes such a difference to the lives of the children and their families.”
