Five Hurt In Incident
A Vauxhall Corsa was left overturned following a car crash on the A56 at Accrington last night (November 17th).
Five people were injured in the incident, with the driver and two passengers being taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment for head injuries. The other people involved suffered minor injuries.
Police closed the road for four hours while they investigated the incident, which occurred on the northbound carriageway.
Discussing the incident, David Urpeth, partner at Irwin Mitchell, said: “While few details have so far emerged in relation to the crash, it is vital that a thorough investigation is carried out into what caused the incident.
“While the crash is not thought to involve any other vehicles, it is concerning that this incident took place just hours after a collision between two cars on the same road.
“I hope authorities are able to work quickly to highlight what occurred and if anything can be done to improve the safety of those travelling on the route.”
“Many people do not realise that passengers injured in a car crash may be entitled to claim compensation even when no other vehicle is involved.”
