Residents Moved Out Of Site
An investigation has been launched by police into the death of an 84-year-old pensioner at a nursing home.
Residents of Uplands Nursing Home in Maisemore, Gloucester were moved out of the site by the council days after Leslie George died there. No cause of death has been revealed and an inquest has been opened and adjourned.
These latest reports have come after previous inspections highlighted concerns in relation to cleanliness and other issues at the home.
Jonathan Peacock, of Irwin Mitchell’s south-west office in Bristol, said: ”Reports of a death at the home, particularly after the findings of inspections in the past, is terrible news.
“It is very important that all people living in nursing homes are given the highest possible standard of care and I hope that any investigations focus on determining if this was the case.
“However, I welcome the council’s decision to remove all residents from the site as a precautionary measure following inspections.”
