Police Launch Investigation Into Incident
A personal injury lawyer has called for a thorough investigation to be carried out into events leading up to an incident which saw a man fatally crushed by a tractor.
Reports have revealed that a 63-year-old man was found dead on Shiel Farm in Sorn, Mauchline on Saturday evening, with police suggesting there are no suspicious circumstances.
Officers are now working to discover the cause of death, although it is also not thought to be related to the adverse weather seen across the UK in the past week or so.
Commenting on the case, Elaine Russell of Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office said: “While only a handful of details have emerged on this incident, it is undoubtedly very important that the police work quickly to bring their investigation to a conclusion.
“One aspect of the incident that they will have to consider is the condition of the tractor, particularly whether any faults may have played a part in the death.
“If any such issues are found, it will be vital that the information is relayed to those working or living on farms to ensure that any similar incidents can be avoided in the future.”
