The Meningitis Trust

The Glasgow branch of The Meningitis Trust is today putting out a call for people to attend its Christmas Concert in order to raise the money they need to help them through the year ahead.
Glasgow Cathedral will be hosting the Trust’s fund raising concert this year for the first time and boasts performances from a melody of choirs including the city's Youth Choir.
Bursting into song on December 3rd at 7pm, the carol service aims to raise money for the Trust that supports people in the city and across the country who face the challenge of life after the effects of meningitis.
Anne Currie from the Trust said: "This charity helps people who are affected or bereaved by meningitis in a practical, emotional and financial way. However, we receive limited funds from the government and rely heavily on the support of individuals and organisations to continue functioning.
"These carol services provide the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and raise money for the Trust in a beautiful surrounding listening to beautiful music.
"But, there are still 60 places to fill and it would be great to have a full house."
Elaine Russell from law firm Irwin Mitchell is one of the volunteers attending on the night. She said: "The Trust provides so much support for people across the city we try to support them in as many ways as possible too by raising money and volunteering at events when we can.
"We are all looking forward to the Carol Service, the music and meeting other volunteers and only hope as many people as possible turn up to support the charity."
