Jersey Care Home Abuse Case
A 46-year-old man has been remanded in custody after admitting sexually abusing boys at a Jersey care home during the 1970s, it has been revealed.
Michael Aubin pleaded guilty to two counts of gross indecency and two counts of indecent assault on children under 10 years old at Haut de la Garenne.
The Channel Islands' Royal Court heard how Aubin, who was born in Jersey and lives in St Denys, Southampton, carried out the attacks while a resident at the home.
He earlier pleaded not guilty to three further counts of indecent assault and they will be dealt with after sentencing at the Royal Court on June 22.
Stephen Baker, prosecuting, said after `detailed discussions with the police and the victims in the case, the pleas were accepted.
At least two other people have been charged after a wide-ranging police investigation into historic child abuse on the island.
Police gathered a list of 40 suspects after scores of people came forward claiming they had been sexually and physically abused at Haut de la Garenne.
Mr Baker told the court that Aubin was a resident at the home and, when interviewed by police, he told them he had also been the victim of abuse.
