Mother Dies In Hit And Run

Road Traffic Collisions

A car that had been followed by police has hit and killed the mother of a 10 month old baby.

The pedestrian, from Halesowen, died in Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley after the black Rover 800 hit her.

Officers had been following the vehicle after it was seen "in suspicious circumstances" in a marked car.

The three occupants fled after the incident in Barrack Lane, Cradley in the Black Country.

David Urpeth, a Partner from law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "This tragic case highlights the devastation that is often caused when pedestrians and vehicles come together in road traffic collisions. It also highlights the risks involved when police pursue vehicles.

"I represent many people who have been injured or killed in road traffic accidents."
