Dog Attack

Police are seeking the owner of a dog who attacked a teenage girl, leaving her "scarred for life".

The incident happened in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, when a Rottweiler jumped up and bit Hayley Marchant, 18, on the arm. She was left with a number of bite marks, some of them severe.

Miss Marchant was walking along a footpath when she stood aside to allow the dog and his owner to pass. The Rottweiler was on a lead, but still managed to jump up and attack her.

"My arm's going to be scarred for life," she told The Comet newspaper. "If I had had a child with me it could have been a lot worse. I'm just grateful I put my arm up because the dog could have bitten my face instead."

Police are now looking for the dog's owner, who failed to stop following the incident.
