Hotel illness announcement

We have been made aware of an outbreak of gastric illness at the Marte Hotel in Alcudia, Majorca for guests who travelled to the hotel in June 2008.

It is reported that guests have become ill with symptoms of gastric illness and it is thought that this illness may be due to the hotel swimming pool.

At least one confirmed diagnosis of Cryptosporidium has been returned by a holidaymaker who has returned from the hotel and some guests continue to suffer from ongoing gastric symptoms.
