Racing Accident
Two pedestrians have been caught up in a racing accident at a "car cruise" in Nuneaton that attracted more than 2,000 people.
The crash, which involved two cars and a motorbike, also left six other people needing hospital treatment.
A woman rear seat passenger in a Ford Fiesta suffered a fractured pelvis and leg and possible internal injuries.
She had been trapped and was semi-conscious in the wreckage for what an ambulance spokesman described as "a considerable period".
Six ambulances, an emergency care practitioner, an incident support officer and a Basics Emergency Doctor were sent to the scene to Gresham Road on the Bermuda Industrial Estate.
A spokesman said: "The two pedestrians, a man and a woman were seen by ambulance staff at the scene but chose to take themselves to the George Eliot as a precaution.
"This was a very complex incident made all the more difficult by the sheer number of people at the scene.
"Ambulance and fire crews worked together really hard to ensure everyone that had been hurt was able to receive medical treatment as fast as possible."
