Illness at Butlins Holiday Camp, Bognor Regis
Seventy five people were taken ill with the diarrhoea and vomiting bug, Norovirus at the Butlins holiday camp in Bognor Regis on 21 September 2007.
Managers at the Butlins camp in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, said some guests had decided to go home early while others were quarantined in their rooms.
Environmental health officers said the outbreak is now under control.
An investigation into the likely source of the virus should now be carried out by the appropriate agencies. If it turns out that the virus could have been prevented with appropriate hygiene and cleaning procedures which Butlins failed to employ then they may be liable to pay compensation to the affected holidaymakers.
