Commercial litigation lawyers in environmental challenge
Lawyers and staff from Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and KPMG's Yorkshire offices got their hands dirty to help Natural England in an "Outdoor Environmental Challenge" last week.
In total, 36 volunteers from Irwin Mitchell and KPMG helped Natural England to clear the pathways at its Hatfield Moor site near Doncaster, part of the largest area of raised bog wilderness in lowland Britain and a designated site of Special Scientific interest.
Natural England works for people, places and nature to conserve and enhance biodiversity, landscapes and wildlife in rural, urban, coastal and marine areas.
Nick Bates, Head of Commercial Litigation, Irwin Mitchell in Yorkshire said: "It was great fun to be involved in this project whilst also securing the future of many important habitats and species.
"As the fourth largest law firm in the UK we take our role in the community seriously and we know that KPMG, as a big four accountancy firm, is similarly committed."
Jenny Wilkinson at KPMG Forensic in Leeds added: "We were delighted to be part of this project and to make a valuable contribution to this beautiful site. The day went well and we achieved a good deal."
