New mesothelioma support group launch - 26/11/07
A newly formed support group will be officially launched on Monday, November 26 at a meeting in the Houses of Parliament hosted by local MP for West Ham Lyn Brown. The East London Mesothelioma Support ( ELMS) group aims to help people affected by mesothelioma and asbestos related diseases, their families and friends.
The meeting will include a talk from ELMS founder Eileen Beadle and welcomes guest speakers Dr. Jeremy Steele, a consultant oncologist at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Mick Holder from the London Hazards Centre and Irwin Mitchell asbestos specialist lawyer Caroline Pinfold who is a member of the group's committee.
Mrs Beadle, who lost her husband to mesothelioma in 2006 started the East London Mesothelioma Support® group in order to help others affected by the tragic consequences of asbestos exposure. Caroline Pinfold represented Ray and Eileen Beadle in the successful claim against Ray's former employers for compensation for his mesothelioma . She commented: "I am pleased that Eileen has felt able to provide support and advice to other victims of asbestos disease following the tragic loss of her husband Ray from mesothelioma.
She has already achieved a great deal in a relatively short time since Ray died in September 2006. The support group will be of huge benefit to other victims of this terrible illness and I am honoured to have been invited to be a member of the committee."
Anyone who would like more information about the ELMS group should contact Eileen on 0800 8766 773 or Caroline Pinfold at Irwin Mitchell.
