Claims against JMC and/or Lampkin & Co Solicitors
At the end of August 2000 a large group of British holidaymakers contracted severe food poisoning when staying in the Atlantico Playa Hotel in Fuerteventura.
On return from holiday a number of these people (69 in total) pursued a claim against JMC for compensation for personal injury. Progress was made and the parties jointly agreed that the illness was caused by a contaminated water supply.
The holidaymakers were represented as a group by a firm of solicitors, Lampkin & Co. The claim against JMC failed as the relevant court papers were not served by the solicitors on time.
Unfortunately, the claims against JMC relating to the adult holidaymakers can now not be pursued as the relevant time limit has passed. However, IM are pursuing this case in two ways:
- Fresh claims can be pursued against JMC in relation to any children affected.
- Claims for professional negligence against the solicitors involved are being pursued on behalf of the adults.
IM will consider acting on a "no win no fee" basis to pursue these claims on your behalf. If you would like more information in relation to pursuing the claims against either JMC or the solicitors, please contact us.
