Cruise Ship Collision In Egypt

Leading travel lawyers are calling for a thorough investigation into how a cruise ship came to collide with a pier in Egypt leaving three people dead and four hospitalised.
The owner of the ship confirmed that it sprung a leak on its right side after it smashed into the dock at the Red Sea resort in Egypt in the early hours of February 26th. The company that owns the ship confirmed that three crew members died and one was taken to hospital along with three British passengers. Other passengers who were evacuated from the luxury cruise liner following the incident are now waiting to return home.
Clive Garner, head of International Travel Law at Irwin Mitchell said: “Witnesses have confirmed that there were strong winds throughout the night but despite this we would not expect a collision of this force without some error on the part of the cruise line or its Captain or crew.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased and we hope that those injured have a speedy recovery.
“We call for an early and thorough investigation into this incident to provide those who were on board and their families with answers and to ensure that it is never allowed to happen again.”
