Settlement For Pedestrian After Road Traffic Collision

Settlement For Pedestrian After Road Traffic Collision

Irwin Mitchell’s Serious Injury team secured a five-figure settlement for a man who was injured in a road traffic collision.

In early 2014 our client, Mr M, was walking along a footpath when a driver lost control of their vehicle whilst speeding. The car collided with bollards, a fence and a hedge. It is thought that debris struck M, although he can’t remember the accident.

M dislocated his ankle which had to be fixed in with pins and a plate. He still has reduced movement in the joint and suffers from discomfort despite attending physiotherapy sessions. He now has an increased risk of developing osteoarthritis which could require further surgery.

M also suffered a mild head injury and had to take around three months off work.

Louise Morgan, a serious injury specialist, helped M secure compensation which will fund therapy and surgery if it’s required in the future.

Louise said: “Mr M suffered nasty injuries as a result of the incident but we were able to resolve his claim relatively swiftly and the compensation will enable him to obtain the further therapy that has been recommended.”
